Primary Use: This site could be used to get students
acquainted with the Internet and its basic functions, how to follow simple
directions, and provides extra reading practice.
Educational Value: This
web site could be used for students to learn how the Internet and links
work. Each page on the site requires
some type of reading and following directions.
The student has a variety of games and activities to choose from. Some of the games include unscrambling a
story so it makes sense, a trivia game which provides hints to the correct
answer, coloring pages, and putting an animated puzzle together while listening
to music. Children would relate to this
web site because of the characters that are included.
Comments: I
found this site to be very child-orientated and beneficial to the
classroom. Students would be able to
sharpen their reading skills while having fun at the same time. One thing that I also like about this site
is that it has links for teachers, parents and librarians. There is also a mass quantity of recommended
books to read on this site. Overall, I
think that Arthur sets a good example for children. They love to watch his shows and this site would provide them
with opportunity to learn more about Arthur and his friends.
